The Westin Dallas Stonebriar Golf Resort & Spa

Quick trip to the Dallas area November 2023. Good hotel with great breakfast buffet on the weekend only. Recommended getting the golf course view for your stay. The hotel elevators are slow and take some time running in return the hotel was offering extra Marriott Reward Points via text. I couldn't give five stars as the first night the neighbors dog kept barking all night long even after we called the front desk. Then the second night same issue with the dog barking through the night. The hotel could only offer for us to move rooms in the middle of the night. Not so accommodating for a $300+ night room. I understand many folks are trying to travel with their pets however this is causing many hotels to just give up on guest wanting a good night's sleep.

The area and resort grounds are nice, but our experiences with service and rooms were not up to par for a 4 star hotel. Be warned - the HVAC system is horrible at best (first room didn’t function and second barely blew air. Had to sleep with glass door open every night for the room to cool). Elevators take forever here. Possibly worst of all- Housekeeping will bang on your door, not announce who they are and barge into your room within 2 seconds of knocking…oh, at an unacceptable time like 8:30 in the morning too. I felt like our room was being broken into every day while we were inside. How intrusive and startling! Wanted to enjoy our stay but sadly had issues with the service and expectations of this place every day. And this is what they’ll say to any negative review…. “Please accept our sincerest apologies for the unsatisfactory experience you had during your time with us. We are truly sorry and disappointed to hear about the perception you are left with about our hotel. Please know that we do try to consistently deliver a superior guest experience. Should you ever find yourself back in town, please give us a chance to show you that our product and service can live up to your expectations.” Yeah, that won’t do anything for us…how about someone get in touch with us personally?

We stayed at the Westin Stonebriar for my husband’s birthday weekend. It was a lovely trip. The resort was nice and clean and the staff was friendly. We did book the golf package and the staff was not well versed on what comes with the package so be advised on knowing what you’re getting so you don’t miss out on something you paid for with the packages. Otherwise the golf was great. We got to play closest to the pin with the pro and that was fun. It was a beautiful day and a lovely course. The food at the hotel is great too. The wings are crispy and so good even without any sauce. They had live music and he sang 90s tunes and everyone sang along with him. It was a great atmosphere at the bar. The pools are really nice and lots of space for your family to enjoy the sunshine. All in all it was a lovely trip and we will absolutely return.

Location, grounds, and general appeal of the hotel was great. The pillows they use are great too. However, this place does not enforce any sort of quiet hours and that really ruined my recent stay. I stayed here with my wife on our wedding night while the hotel was hosting some sort of football event and the players were horrendously loud slamming doors and yelling through 3am. Given the occasion we also ordered a bottle of Prosecco with champagne glasses and when we got to our room the glasses were dirty with one having food caked on. I’m sure they were overwhelmed with the event they were hosting but our experience was not acceptable for a 4 star hotel. Perhaps if they are hosting events like this they shouldn’t put other guests in rooms nearby. I will say the valet both at pickup and drop off were great.

Checked in after 9pm. Room has been hot and stuffy since. Finally called down at 11pm after my husband couldn’t get the air to work. No one responded. Called again at midnight and an “engineer” showed up and offered us “fans.” Finally called back downstairs to request something and was told we can move to the 5th floor. It is now 1 am. We have not slept at all. And have to get dressed and move to an “upgrade.” This hotel stay/getaway has RUINED our first wedding anniversary. It’s definitely overpriced and over hyped. NEVER AGAIN. Update - air didn’t work in room on 5th floor either. With approximately 7 hours left in our stay, we took the fans. Don’t come to this place. It’s poorly maintained. A true pig in lipstick. Staff was nice though.
